One of the awesome things about living in Vienna, VA is the hometown feel it has and you can experience that yourself on Monday, November 28th from 6-9PM at the Church Street Holiday Stroll. Church Street will be closed to traffic from Lawyers Road to Mill Street. You and your family can welcome the holidays with a stroll down Church Street. Here are a few highlights:
Santa will arrive by firetruck at 6:15PM and then greet children at the historic Freeman House & Museum.
Our Mayor Laurie DiRocco will light the holiday tree!
Church Street has a WIDE variety of fun stores – not the usual “cookie cutter chains”. And the merchants will be staying open late on Monday! Get a jump on your holiday shopping. And find something really unique for those special people in your life!
Enjoy music from a variety of local music groups including Green Hedges School Jazz Band, Fairfax Jubil-Aires, Louise Archer Elementary Singers, Thoreau Chamber Choir, Vienna Community Band, and Wolftrap Elementary.
There will be hot chocolate & marshmallow roasting stations. If you need to grab dinner first, there are LOTS of options: Church Street Pizza is one of our favorites with the family. And if you’re still thirsty, you can grab coffee at our awesome local coffee shop Caffe Amouri, a beer at the Vienna Inn or a cocktail at the bar at Bazin’s on Church!
Vienna has some really cool places to explore and learn about our local history. On Monday, you can see the Freeman Store and Museum, the Little Library, Caboose, Train Station, Knights of Columbus (formerly First Baptist Church), and Vienna Presbyterian’s Old Chapel.
The local merchants and residents are offering all sorts of fun activities. VPC for example is providing fresh popcorn, live music & a Christmas Carol sing-a-long, craft making and interactive skits!
